TRC’s client has a direct hire, mostly remote opportunity for a Tax Manager for their Non-Profit division!
This position is with a leading public accounting firm headquartered here in Atlanta. They offer great benefits and significant growth opportunities! 
What You’ll Do
· Provide innovative tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to nonprofit clients.
· Review Forms 990, 990-EZ, and 990-PF for private foundations, public charities, and other nonprofits (approximately 50% of time, expected to grow).
· Review corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns (decreasing over time as nonprofit work increases).
· Manage multiple complex projects, including client communications, data analysis, and coordination of resources.
· Research and advise on Unrelated Business Income Tax (UBIT) and other nonprofit-specific issues.
· Oversee preparation and review of tax-exempt status reinstatements and Form 1023 applications.
· Collaborate with outside advisors to provide comprehensive client planning.
· Mentor and develop junior staff, providing training and guidance on nonprofit tax matters.
· Serve as an internal resource on nonprofit tax and financial best practices.
· Support staff training, including annual nonprofit tax preparation sessions for new hires.
· Contribute to business development by building client and advisor relationships.
What You Bring
· 5+ years of public accounting experience, including prior management responsibilities.
· Active CPA or EA license.
· 8+ years preparing and reviewing nonprofit returns (foundations, charities, and other exempt organizations).
· Proven experience supervising tax professionals.
· Strong client service orientation with excellent communication and time management skills.
· Location: Atlanta or Chattanooga preferred; remote candidates in EST or CST time zones considered.
