Your New Company

I am partnered with a global fin-tech trading firm headquartered here in Manhattan who operate across five key countries providing quantitative analysis to global financial markets. They have in excess of 1800 employees in NYC and have proven growth YoY for the past 25+ years they have been in business.

As they continue their growth acquiring further office space and data-centers in support of their trajectory they are looking for a Senior Construction Estimator to join their in-house construction division tasked with developing complete cost estimates along with tracking all costs related to every phase of their construction projects nationally across the US.

Your new role

In this role as a Senior Construction Estimator the individual will need to collaborate closely with our in-house Cost, Procurement, and Design teams, along with our external CM firms and consultants in production and oversight of complete cost estimates.

• Assisting in the formulation of comprehensive project budgets, factoring in construction, design, furnishings, permits, and other associated costs.
• Evaluating budget proposals from third-party cost consultants and general contractors to ensure alignment with project scope, verifying bid comparisons, and monitoring cost and scope changes from early design through final documentation.
• Overseeing regular financial reporting for active projects, detailing expenditures by initiative, comparing forecasts to actual commitments, tracking change orders, and projecting cash flow.
• Creating cost projections for interior build-outs using historical pricing data and quantity takeoffs, with updates made throughout the design evolution.
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and external estimators to assess change order requests, and leading or supporting negotiation efforts when necessary.
• Analyzing contractor bid packages and conducting detailed cost comparisons across trades to ensure pricing accuracy and competitiveness; facilitating internal approvals for trade contract awards.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal Estimating candidate will have 5+ years’ experience working specifically in the NY construction market, pricing interior fit-out and renovation project work valued in excess of $10M. Having a high technical understanding of MEP trades and pricing specific to the MEP scope is beneficial along with exposure to data centers, and trading floors being another a big plus.

Also having experience with take-off software including On-Screen take-off, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite is highly desired.
