Top academic hospital in Brooklyn looking for a Director of Labor & Delivery (or could be called "Director of Inpatient Obstetrics") due to a pending retirement. This is an employed position with a base salary, quality bonus, CME money, opportunity for moonlighting and standard hospital benefits including malpractice coverage. Job Function: Approximately 70% clinical and 30% administrative time. Clinical time could be taking laborist shifts (typically 12 hrs but can be 24) or if have fellowship training may spend time on antepartum unit. Will have 30% protected administrative time to heavily work on QI projects for the department. Collaboration with anesthesia, pediatrics, maternity/postpartum - reports directly to the Chair of ObGyn. A lead ObGyn hospitalist with team of 5 laborists + CNM would report into you - there are in the process of starting an Ob-hospitalist fellowship program. Level 3 NICU with 24/7 Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ob-Anesthesia Coverage. 2 DaVinci robots, surgical cases only done as needed from triage, no specific dedicated time here.
