The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you'll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors or see on the roadways.
The purpose of this position is to operate a variety of heavy equipment for the purposes of road/bridge construction and maintenance primarily for Cameron Davis Parish. This position is located in District 07 Unit 570 of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to Highway Foreman 1. The incumbent must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and able to interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. The incumbent will participate in appropriate DOTD structured training programs and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks. While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service Laws, rules, and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Mobile Equipment Operator 1, 2 or 1/Heavy depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
Compensation: Below is the starting salary and Premium Pay amounts for each level.
