Location YMCA Sports Center, Des Moines, IA Employment Type Full-Time Salary Range $50,000 - $55,000 annually (based on experience) Responsibilities Lead the gymnastics program from recreational classes to elite USAG competitive team, overseeing 200 monthly participants and a 40-member team. Mentor and motivate coaches to deliver high-quality instruction in a state-of-the-art facility. Design curricula that promote joy, progression, confidence, and resilience for gymnasts from tots to teens. Build strong relationships with parents, athletes, and the community to boost engagement and program impact. Guide the competitive team to success in USAG meets, including logistics and celebration of achievements. Maintain a safe, inclusive environment with equipment and practices aligned to YMCA and USAG standards. Qualifications 5+ years of gymnastics coaching or program management experience; USAG competitive background preferred. USAG Professional Membership and certifications (e.g., Safety Certification, Background Check). Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred but not required). Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership skills to inspire staff and connect with families. Commitment to youth development and fostering an inclusive, positive environment.
