About the Role:
This position offers an exciting opportunity to begin a career in the dynamic field of freight forwarding and customs brokerage. The Entry-Level Customs Entry Writer will assist in processing import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and international trade requirements. This is an ideal role for detail-oriented individuals eager to learn the ins and outs of global logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process import/export documentation, including customs invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Accurately classify goods and enter data into customs software and related systems.
Communicate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to gather shipment information and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor shipment status and proactively address potential delays in customs clearance.
Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure timely movement of goods.
Learn and apply customs regulations, international trade agreements, and industry best practices.
Provide administrative and operational support as assigned by the supervisor or team lead.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in international trade, logistics, or related field preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with logistics or customs software a plus.
