Job Description
Location: White Marsh, MD Salary: $80-120k DOE Position Overview The Civil Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership skills, site management expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of heavy civil construction processes and equipment.
Key Responsibilities - Supervise daily construction activities and coordinate with various teams on-site.
- Manage the scheduling and allocation of resources, including labor and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and promote a safety-first culture on the job site.
- Monitor project progress and provide timely updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Train and mentor crew members on equipment operation, safety practices, and construction techniques.
- Implement and oversee the use of shoring systems, including timber shoring, slide rail, and quick shoring systems.
- Utilize concrete vibrators to ensure proper concrete placement and compaction.
- Shoot grades and assist with layout and site measurements to guarantee precision in construction.
- Respond to and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on the job site.
Qualifications - Proven experience as a foreman or similar role in civil construction.
- Ability to work on jobsites outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and techniques.
- Familiarity with shoring systems and equipment operation.
- Valid OSHA certification and First Aid training.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in site management and project scheduling.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
